Queen’s College Taunton is one of the leading independent boarding schools based in the south-west of the country, educating approximately 780 boys and girls from age 0 to 18.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Queen’s College as a Groundsperson working within the Grounds team to maintain the entire school site. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with the Head Groundsperson with the efficient and effective preparation, marking and repair of sports pitches, cricket squares, and artificial surfaces.

Queen’s College, Taunton has a reputation for quality of its grounds and sports pitches and the successful candidate will play an integral part in working with the existing team to ensure that this continues. The facilities include seven rugby pitches, six cricket pitches, six cricket nets, two all-weather pitches and three multi usage games surfaces.  

You will also assist with preparation and presentation of garden areas within the school campus to help ensure that the site is immaculately presented. 

The successful candidate will be dynamic and driven with a real passion for ensuring the quality of the sporting surfaces that the school has to offer.

A professional, courteous, friendly and methodical approach is required as the role involves contact with staff, students, parents and visiting sports teams to the school.

Residential Interns

Fixed term for one year (term time only, but weekend work during this time is required)

Internship allowance of £8,000 - £10,000 plus on site accommodation is provided.

We are looking to recruit dynamic and enthusiastic graduates to join Queen’s College on our internship programme. The ideal candidates will have a passion for education as well as a real desire to experience life within an Independent School. The Residential Interns will play a vital role in supporting boarding House Parents to ensure that the school boarding community has an exceptional experience and will be expected to undertake boarding house duties including evening and weekend co-curricular activities and trips.

In addition the Interns will help support the academic staff deliver the highest quality experience for our students both within the classroom by supporting various academic activities and providing cover where necessary.

In return Queen’s College will provide the Interns will a real insight into working in an Independent School, with the aim of developing their skills and experience to pursue their chosen career.
