Shelter Box help for Haiti

Shelter Box help for Haiti

Pupils aged from 3 to 18 at Queen's College have responded to the Haitian disaster by raising enough money to send three Rotary International shelter boxes to the stricken island. Each box contains a tent and enough basic camping equipment to enable a family who've lost their home to survive. Children at the junior school have been doing chores at home to contribute their share of the almost £1600 needed, whilst the senior school held a special assembly to learn about the earthquake, with a collection afterwards. "It's a magnificent effort and I'm very proud of our pupils," commented headmaster Chris Alcock. Each shelter box has a unique code which enables the school to track it on the internet and see where it is being used.
