Queen's Host Girls Cricket Tournament

Queen's Host Girls Cricket Tournament

Queen's played host to a new and successful Girls Cricket Tournament last week with many local schools attending. Uffculme School, King's Ottery, Blundell's, Wellington and Haygrove joined us for a fantastic day of cricket.

The recently formed Queen's team put on a remarkable set of performances to win all three group games and their semi final to face a strong Haygrove side in the final. Queen's lost to Haygrove by 3 runs in the final performing exceptionally well as a team.

The Queen's B team also did the school proud with some great bowling and batting efforts throughout the day.

Queen's captain Georgie Longbottom won bowler of the tournament and Cassie Coombs of Haygrove won batswoman of the tournament. England and Somerset player Fran Wilson presented the trophies.

Thank you to all volunteers, scorers, umpires and pupils who made the event possible and of course to the catering department for a fine lunch buffet and afternoon tea.
