17k Commando Challenge for the tough trio

17k Commando Challenge for the tough trio

Sunday 16th June Ryan Page, Ali Floyd and Gilbert Ip took part in a 17km Commando Challenge which involved working as a team to negotiate the water and muddy obstacles on the Royal Marines Endurance course on Woodbury Common. They enjoyed the challenges and their team spirit shone through. The boys managed to raise £438 for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust by a variety of means; they had a very successful ice cream sale in the Junior School, generous sponsors and kind parents at the Leavers’ Service.

The challenge did have a competitive edge to it and the team ran the course in an impressive 1 hour 24 min which was the 3rd fastest of the 50 teams entered for the event. With points awarded for both speed and donations they came 5th overall.

Ali, Gilbert and Ryan would fully recommend others participating in the 10km and 4.5km challenges in October.
