Pastoral

Why pastoral matters so much
Pastoral care is at the forefront of the children’s education here at Queen’s.
Every child has the right to be happy and to enjoy learning, which is why we nurture positive behavior and celebrate individuals’ effort and achievement in all areas of school life.
There are clear links between pastoral care and recognition and rewards. Every child is encouraged to think of others, respect differences and develop the skills of being a good citizen and friend.
Pupils have daily contact with their Form Tutor who plays a pivotal role in their pastoral care. A strong, trusting relationship between pupils and their Form Tutors is vital although pupils are encouraged to discuss important issues with any member of staff they choose.
The Headmaster, Chaplain, School Nurse and Matron are always available to the children and form an integral part of the pastoral care system within the school.
