Swimming v Castle (Years 7-10)

The Queen's squad won 399 - 291. Two wins for Rebecca Wilde, Jacob Greenow, Huw Williams, Matt Keogan, Harrison Price, Sophie Jones and Tilly Fender. Outstanding performances from Elliott Trotman, who stormed the breaststroke race, Harrison Price, who dominated his two events, and the Year 7 girls, who came 1st and 2nd in each of their inter races. Jacob Greenow took the U14 boys Individual Medley record and the U14 backstroke record. The U14 boys freestyle relay record, held since 1986, was broken by Ben Jones, Dan Wilde, Huw Williams and Jacob Greenow.

 

Swimming v Wellington (Years 7 and 8)

Queen's won 197 - 148. Two wins for Harrison Price, Tilly Fender, Sophie Jones and Amelia Vance. There were many very good performances. Jess Brown was determined not to allow the opposition victory, which was inspiring.

 

Cricket v Taunton School

U13 - Queen's lost by 71 runs. Queen's 129-4, Taunton 58 - 6. Tom Rucklidge 18 and 2-8.

U12A - Queen's lost by 6 wickets. Queens 107, Taunton 111-4. James Duckering 35, Josh Fathers 41.

U12B - Queen's lost by 1 wicket. Queen's 93-5, Taunton 94-9. Harry James 20 not out. Luke Culthbert 2 wickets.

 

Athletics South West Championships

Year 7 girls - Sophie Jones 1st 1500m (new championship record), Imogen Amesbury 1st long jump, Ayla Nethercott 2nd 800m, Emilia Tanner 3rd in hurdles and shot put.

Year 8 girls - Jessie Woodberry 2nd long jump, Kate Shapland 3rd 800m.

Boys ­- Charlie MacNeice 3rd 1500m, Andrew Hewitt 3rd shot put and 2nd in 200m. 4th places to Ed Falkingham 800m, Will Brown 200m and Tom Stevenson javelin.

U16 girls and boys v King's College, Wellington and Taunton School

Queen's Relays - Queen's 1st, Wellington 2nd, King's 3rd, Taunton 4th.

Track and field - Queen's 1st, Wellington 2nd, King's 3rd, Taunton 4th. A comfortable win.

 

Boys' Tennis v Heathfield

A very pleasing end to the season.

1st - won 8-1. Ewen Alexander and Richard Venn played particularly well to win all three matches.

2nd - lost 1-8. Max Bykovskiy teamed up with Joe Shepherd and beat their first pair.

 

Girls' Tennis v King's

1st - lost 1-8. The girls played well. Scarlett Scott-Collins and Sara Taraq were particularly impressive.

2nd - lost 1-8, out of practice!

3rd - lost 0-9.

U15A - lost 3-6. Our weakened team struggled against a strong King's side.

U15B - won 5-4. A brave and determined performance. Ella Williams and Amelia Walker chased everything. Issy Gooding and Jo Wallace-Beecham were too strong for King's, and Tess Turner and Daniella Smith won their matches.

U14A - lost 2-7. The girls played well, particularly the 1st pair of Beth Alexander and Amelia Wotton.

U14B - won 5-4. Some excellent tennis and well-earned victory.
