Tutors

Each pupil in the school is assigned a personal Tutor. That teacher will stay with his or her group as they move up through the school and will get to know them well as individuals.

The Tutor has frontline responsibility to:

  • Oversee their tutees’ work and advise, cajole, chide and encourage as necessary.
  • Help with the organisation of files etc. and is the first contact where there are difficulties.
  • Check and sign the student planner once a week. (Parents please remember to sign too. Boarders who go home less frequently have their planners checked by their Tutors)

Where there are problems the Tutor will contact either the parents or the Housemaster/mistress – or both.

Parents can contact the Tutor by
  • The student planner
  • Letter via the School Office
  • Leaving a message on the Houseparents’ voice mail
  • Contacting boarding Houseparents by fax
  • Leaving a written or phone message in the main office

The Tutor will know his/her charges well and will assist with pastoral concerns.
