Science in the Junior School is about encouraging children to be curious about the things they observe and experience in the world around them, using this to develop their understanding of scientific ideas.

The emphasis in our teaching of Science is on first hand experience, and we encourage the children to take control of their own learning. There is a focus on scientific enquiry, through practical investigative work.

Science is taught in our fully equipped lab and the curriculum is organised on a topic basis related to the National Curriculum and QCA Programmes of Study. Each topic is usually visited twice during the four years of Key Stage 2.
