Year 3 Teachers: Miss Samantha Horner and Mrs Penny Walker

The move to the Junior School signifies a move onto the next phase of education in KS2.

The skills of independence, which are developed throughout KS1, become increasingly important as the children mature and are expected to apply themselves to more challenging work.

The children in Year 3 are taught all subjects with their form teachers, with the exception of PE and Games, French, Drama and Music, which are taught by subject specialists. The children are also target grouped for Maths. Throughout their lessons the children learn to incorporate skills in ICT and opportunities for educational outings, and vistors to the school are planned when appropriate.

The children benefit from the shared thinking and planning of the two teachers who, between them, plan the delivery of the curriculum to their forms.
