Head of Design Technology : Phil Dudman

In Design and Technology students are encouraged to  respond creatively to a given brief. They become acquainted with the design process and are encouraged to develop their ideas in a practical way. In Years 4 and 5 students work on a different brief each term and experience using a range of basic tools in the Art and Design Room.

In Year 6 students are timetabled to use the workshop in the Hodgson Building on the Senior School site. This is a purpose built Design and Technology Centre, and it is here that students are able to experience using machine tools. Projects are devised to facilitate the use of these tools, broadening the students' level of experience and raising their confidence in the workshop situation.
