Queen's Parents' Association

Why not join the QPA?

The Queen's Parents' Association at Queen's College Junior, Pre-Prep and Nursery Schools exists for everyone involved with the schools - parents, pupils and teachers.

In order to carry out this role we need to recruit parents to help with the many events that we put on during the year. This may seem like a big commitment but is does not have to be.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much time is involved?

The committee meets on average once every half term. Extra meetings are called if we have a big event to organise. Not all members are able to come to every meeting, all we ask is that you attend as many as you can. It may be that you feel you do not want to be on the committee but would still like to help; we warmly welcome parents who can help at events.

Social events

Our primary aim is to provide entertainment and events throughout the year, which are enjoyable for everyone.

Fundraising

We do raise funds during the course of the year through some of the events we stage. As we are a non profit making organisation any money we raise is used to purchase equipment for the children throughout the Junior, Pre-Prep and Nursery departments.

Where does the money go?

In 2002/03 we provided the Junior department with a table tennis table.

In 2003/04 we helped to buy the Pre-Prep an outdoor climbing frame.

In 2004/05 we gave the Nursery £500 towards new play equipment.

In 2005/06 we have raised money for the purchase of two shade sails for the Pre-Prep and Junior playgrounds.

In 2006/07 we purchased outdoor play equipment.

In 2007/08 we helped purchase AverVision projectors for most of the form rooms.

In 2008/09 we bought six gazebos.

In 2009/10 we bought a play train for Pre-Prep.
