Adapted by Nick Ormerod and Declan Donnellan
A brand new adaptation of Dickens' classic tale in which Pip questions his identity, falls in love and lays bare a tissue of lies and guilt. In telling the tale Dickens musters an unforgettable cast of colourful characters, chief amongst them the fearful convict Magwitch, Blacksmith Joe Gargery, the beautiful and remote Estella and the decrepit and terrifying Miss Havisham.
First presented by Cheek by Jowl and The RSC in 2005 "this adaptation is pacy and imaginative using dance and physical theatre techniques. The cast have risen to the challenge and this promises to be a highly charged and moving evening." Says Director Jane Evans.
