The Biology Department's accommodation in the new science block has given our team four purpose-built laboratories, central prep-room, greenhouse, staff office, animal room and dedicated ICT area. A generous grant from the Woolfson Foundation helped with this development.

Biology is taught as a separate subject to all pupils in Years 7,8 & 9. At GCSE it is available as part of the Core Science and Additional Science GCSEs and as a separate subject.

In the Sixth Form the Salters-Nuffield Advanced biology Course is taken. This exciting new course, first available in September 2005 for AS and September 2006 for A2, uses a combination of conventional teaching, practicals and interactive programmes on the SNAB website.
