In the Junior School all children are asked to register before coming in for a taster and assessment day. Here, during the lessons, they have informal assessments within the classroom environment. However, we keep these very low key so that the children are often unaware that they are being assessed.
Those pupils with Learning Development requirements will be seen on an individual basis and assessed by our Head of Learning Development alongside teaching staff.
Children at Queen’s College Junior School are not usually required to sit the entrance exams to enter the Senior School, unless they have specific learning difficulties.
However, all external pupils applying for a Year 7 place sit entrance exams, normally in early January. Entrance tests are in English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning for all prospective Senior School pupils from Years 7 to 10 entry.
All candidates from overseas sit English as an Additional Language, a Mathematics and a Verbal Reasoning paper, normally at the offices of an educational agent, at the British Council or at their own school.
