At Queen’s, students celebrate getting involved and social life combines with many enriching activities which help to develop the whole person. Activities are fully inclusive and can range from whole school performances, choirs and bands, to canoe polo, horse riding and Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Societies and clubs are available for all interests from debating and Model United Nations, through to cookery. Enriching workshops take place throughout the year for a range of career interests such as medicine, law and ethics, neuroscience, hospitality and engineering. Students can receive annual recognition of achievement awards recognising a truly fulfilled educational life.
Students who play a musical instrument can take advantage of individual music lessons. All musicians are encouraged to participate in the various orchestras, choirs or many school productions which are staged every year.
Games and sport are an integral part of school life and Queen’s boasts a stunning range of on-site grass pitches, two astroturf pitches, sports hall (basketball, netball and cricket nets), strength and conditioning equipment and gym, tennis courts and swimming pool. All are situated on one site in a private 36-acre estate. Queen’s also offers certain special-interest sports: equestrianism, rock-climbing and rowing, to name but a few. Queen’s is currently supporting national, international and Junior Olympic level competitors in swimming, hockey, athletics, equestrian sports and even bobsleigh. All levels of sporting competition are very much encouraged and our international pupils often find new interests and a passion for getting involved.
