Head of Mathematics

Permanent

Salary dependent on experience

We are looking to recruit a Head of Maths to be the expert in the school and be able to teach from Year 7 to the Sixth Form to a high standard. The successful candidate will lead and manage the delivery of Maths within the curriculum throughout the school.

They will oversee all teaching and practice within the department to ensure that teaching is differentiated according to the needs of all pupils and in line with the school’s ethos and policies. 

They will develop and implement practices for the subject area, which reflect the school’s vision, commitment to high achievement and effective teaching and learning. They will have a passion for and a good knowledge of current developments in pedagogy and practice, including an engagement in action-based research.

Boarding Houseparents

Two positions - Year 13 Houses / Non-Teaching Roles

Full Time, Term Time Only (including weekends)

We are looking to recruit two Boarding Houseparents for our Year 13 boarding houses to start in September 2021. 

The roles are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running and management of the boarding houses as well as ensuring and promoting the wellbeing of pupils and staff in the houses.

The ideal candidates will have an understanding of residential community life in a caring environment. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills and be organised and flexible. These are non-teaching roles and come with accommodation.

Graduate Outdoor Pursuits and Boarding Assistant

Fixed Term for one year

We are looking to recruit a Graduate Outdoor Pursuits and Boarding Assistant for one of our Boarding Houses to start in September 2021. 

The role is responsible for supporting the Boarding Houseparent in all matters relating to the pastoral welfare of the pupils in their care. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of residential community life in a caring environment. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills and be organised and flexible.

Alongside this role we are looking to recruit someone who is passionate about working in the outdoors and is keen to gain experience delivering a challenging and varied adventure programme in a school setting. 

It would also provide opportunities for professional development and the gaining of further NGB qualifications.This role comes with accommodation.

This opportunity provides the postholder with a real insight into working in an independent school, with the aim of developing their skills and experience to pursue their chosen career.

Bank School Nurse

We are looking to recruit a Band 5 registered nurse to join the school’s Medical Team as bank staff. Shifts could include on-call, weekends as well as day/twilight/night shifts term-time only.

Applicants must be RN Adult or RN Child qualified with at least one year’s experience in the acute sector or practice nursing or as a school nurse and must have current, unrestricted registration with the NMC. 

The ideal candidate will be approachable and enjoy working with children. They must be willing to be flexible and adaptable and happy to work with pupils who show symptoms of Covid-19. Awareness or training in mental health is desirable.

School Nurse

26 hours per week

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered General Nurse (RGN) with excellent communication skills and at least two years’ post registration experience to join the Medical Team.

The post holder will have a friendly, sympathetic and supportive personality and demonstrate a confident and calm demeanour when dealing with a range of accidents, emergencies and first aid issues as well as the general running of the Medical Centre.

It is essential that applicants have experience working as a School Nurse or in Accident and Emergency and have nursing experience caring for children.
