Candidates applying to enter the senior school will sit entrance exams in English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning.
Sixth Form candidates are expected to achieve a minimum of five A*-C grades in their GCSEs and preferably A*-B grades in their chosen A Level subjects.
Candidates applying to enter Year 7 from maintained schools sit their exams in early January, whilst candidates applying to enter Year 9 sit their exams in February.
Children moving up from Queen’s College Junior School are not usually required to sit entrance exams to enter the Senior School, unless they are applying for an academic scholarship or have specific learning difficulties.
Candidates from overseas sit papers in English as an Additional Language, Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning. Candidates applying to enter Lower Sixth sit two additional subject papers which we will select from the candidate's A Level subject choices. The exams are usually taken at the offices of an educational consultant or at the candidate's own school.
