We are delighted to have signed up to the Boarding Schools' Association's COVID-Safe Charter.
Our Admissions Department remains open and, although we cannot arrange visits at present, we would be pleased to organise online meetings to discuss inquiries and registrations.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Admission to the senior school is open to boys and girls from maintained schools and independent schools that finish at 11+, and from middle schools and prep schools that finish at 13+. Applications are made to the Registrar preferably before the end of the autumn term preceding the year of entry.
Entrance exams are held in January for Year 7 entry, February for Year 9 entry and November for Year 12 entry. Separate arrangements may be made for families applying after the entrance exams have taken place and for those who wish to join after the school year has started, provided places remain available. We also welcome applications for entry into Year 8 and Year 10.
The entrance exams consist of written papers in English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning. In addition, we ask for a report and reference from the current school.
A number of Academic, Music, Sport, Art and Performing Arts Scholarships are available and further information is provided in the Scholarships section.
We recommend that families considering Queen’s College arrange an individual in-depth discussion.
Following your deliberations, we hope that you will wish to register your child for entry and the Admissions team will contact you to discuss your visit and to arrange a taster day. Once your child is registered they will be invited to attend a taster day to experience life in school with their peers.
For families considering boarding, we have five comfortable houses. Boarders in Years 3-8 live in Cotlake House; Senior girls in Years 9-13 live in Hutton House and the Highgrove wing. Senior boys in Years 9-13 live in School House or Channon House.
