Join our fund-raising campaign

We are excited to launch the Queen’s College Adventures Appeal – a fund-raising campaign to improve our facilities for children in Reception up to students in Sixth Form.
It is part of our continued drive to broaden the opportunities available to our pupils, giving them the chance to challenge themselves and help them embrace the great outdoors.
There are three projects being planned:

n A state-of-the-art Climbing Wall to be installed in the Sports Hall for use by all students.
n A new bespoke Adventure Play Facility for Junior School.
n New Playground Equipment for Reception and Years 1 and 2.

We are absolutely delighted that the Queen’s College Foundation – which helps our students in so many different ways – has agreed to match all monies raised by the community.
An exciting programme of fundraising events is planned and we are also looking for people to organise sponsored events and other activities to help us reach our goal.
To kick things off, the QPA (Queen’s Parents’ Association) has kindly agreed to donate the proceeds from the Junior School Summer Fair on May 28 to the appeal.
We’ll be bringing you full details of other events over coming weeks – so watch this space.
Mr David Jones, Chair of the Queen’s College Foundation, said: “After a quiet year of fund-raising for the foundation, we are delighted to be joining with the School in this invigorating project which will benefit all of the pupils.
“We hope that all members of the Queen’s community will get behind the campaign.”
Mr Mark Neenan, Head of Outdoor Pursuits, added: “I am delighted the school is planning to increase our on-site Outdoor Pursuits provision.
“This is so important for young people’s overall development.
“The planned Climbing Wall will be a wonderful whole-school facility which can be utilised by pupils from Reception to Year 13.
“Climbing is one of the UK’s most rapidly growing participation sports and, with its inclusion in the Olympics, this trend will surely grow.
“It promotes good balance, strength and flexibility, as well as enabling pupils to develop resilience, trust and risk management skills in a safe environment.
“The plans for the Climbing Wall are very exciting and the state-of-the-art facility will provide a challenging and versatile learning environment for all.
