We look forward to hearing from you and do stay safe.
A double bill to enjoy this week, starting with a Rambert at Home ballet class for adults.
From 7pm on May 27th, you can join the English National Ballet as they perform Derek Deane’s Swan Lake.
Featuring lead principals Isaac Hernández as Prince Siegfried and Jurgita Dronina as Odette/Odile, this production of Swan Lake captures all the magic of the classic ballet, from the ballerinas in white tutus moving in unison, to the captivating romance between Prince Siegfried and the Swan Queen Odette.
Director of Music, Ed Jenkins writes ...
When departing to London in 1790, Haydn was cheekily informed by Mozart that he knew too few languages to make such a journey; Haydn replied that his language was understood all over the world.
Music really is a universal language and in my recent reviewing of online content, I enjoyed looking at the Gstaad Digital Festival. I'm afraid my language skills are not good but it doesn't matter in the slightest; I could recognise many of the names of performers and composers and the fact I may not know what the exact pieces are made the experience even more exciting and rewarding.
Too often it is easy to return to familiar works but at this stage, when many festivals cannot go ahead and are going online, it is the equivalent of walking around a festival site and popping into the nearest marquee to listen to what is going on and I recommend it!

Often you find a pleasing combination of both familiar and unfamiliar. I noted in an early post that the London Symphony Orchestra was putting some very interesting content online and on May 28th at 7.30pm they are streaming a performance of Brahms' Requiem paired with the Stabat Mater by Szymanowski, a Polish composer from the early 20th century; certainly worth having a look at.
