Founded in 1843, Queen’s has a long history of welcoming overseas boarding pupils from a variety of countries, from the age of 7 years old. We place great value on the contribution these students make to the school community.
Queen’s College proudly welcomes around 110 international students each year, representing over 30 nationalities—including Germany, Ukraine, Nigeria, China, and Hong Kong—to our 36-acre campus. This inclusive environment fosters a close-knit boarding community, encouraging friendship and immersion into British school life, language, and culture. Queen’s values its vibrant, globally minded community, where students build lifelong friendships and embrace a shared learning experience in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
As Taunton’s oldest school, Queen’s College combines historic charm with modern facilities in teaching, arts, and sports on a safe, accessible campus. With excellent road and rail links, we’re ideally located for both overseas students and visiting families, with connections to London (just 1 hour 45 minutes by train), its four international airports, and nearby Exeter Airport. Surrounded by Taunton’s rich history, the English countryside, and stunning coastline, Queen’s offers a uniquely British Boarding experience.
Our distinguished academic team provides top-tier education and tailored support, with a variety of study paths such as GCSE, iGCSE, EAL, A Level, and BTEC courses. Dedicated EAL and IELTS support ensures non-native English speakers thrive in their studies. Queen’s nurtures each student’s unique talents, often serving as a stepping stone to UK universities, including prestigious institutions like Edinburgh, York, Southampton, and Bristol.
In 2024, Queen’s College proudly celebrated its pupils’ exceptionalA Level Results, with nearly two-thirds graded A*-B, well above the national average. Students attained a 100% pass rate across 20 subjects, including Biology, Business Studies, Further Maths, and Physics, with outstanding performance in English Literature, Art, Music, Textiles, and Computing.
