International

We welcome around 110 international students every year, of 30+ nationalities, from countries including Germany, Ukraine, Nigeria, China and Hong Kong, to our 36-acre site. Our international student cohort typically comprises 20-25% of our student body. Our international boarders live and study alongside our UK boarders, with no separation. Everyone enjoys the same lessons, sports and extra-curricular activities. This creates one big boarding 'family', and encourages friendship and camaraderie, enabling students to fully immerse themselves into the British schooling system, language and culture, and for lifelong friendships to be formed. Queen’s is proud of a very special, warm and vibrant community spirit, embracing a truly global outlook.

As the oldest school in Taunton, Somerset, Queen’s boasts an array of beautiful and historic buildings, complemented by modern teaching, arts and sporting facilities. Our safe campus has excellent road and rail links with London, Bristol and Exeter, making it ideally situated for students travelling to join us from overseas, and for parents travelling to the UK. Our school enjoys being close to a historic town, the English countryside, and some beautiful British coastline. We are just 1 hour 45 minutes by train from London and its 4 international airports, and just 40 minutes from Exeter Airport.

The academic teaching team at Queen’s is renowned for offering the highest standards of education and tailored support for each individual. There is a range of educational options available to our international students, including GCSE, iGCSE, EAL, A Level and BTEC courses (link to study options page). Our EAL and IELTS support teams ensure all non-native English speakers are supported throughout their academic studies. At Queen’s we nurture the talents of all students and help them to achieve their goals. For many of our international students, Queen’s is a gateway to university study in the UK. Sixth Form leavers often progress to prestigious Universities in the UK and internationally, including Russell Group Universities including Edinburgh, York, Southampton and Bristol.

International students follow the same application process as UK-based students, with the addition of English language assessments for non-native speakers.
