About Us

With shared values and educational expertise, the Queen's College family ensures that every individual in its care is nurtured to become the best version of themselves. Mutual respect and positive attitudes create an environment where pupils are encouraged to learn and grow in a supportive, empowering setting.

Founded in 1843 as the West of England Wesleyan Proprietary Grammar School, Queen’s College adopted its current name in 1887 to honour the Queen’s Victoria’s Golden Jubilee. Originally located in Castle House within Taunton Castle Grounds, the school moved to its current location in Trull Road in 1846 and remains the oldest school in Taunton.

Queen’s College is a centre of excellence for both academic achievement and creativity, providing a bespoke, individualised education that meets the unique needs of each pupil, whether those needs are academic or pastoral.

The College aims to develop thoughtful, confident, and resilient young people, equipping them to become future leaders and preparing them for life beyond school. We are proud to offer a strong curriculum for all ages, in addition to offering 100+ Co-Curricular options in hand with our school motto “We Learn Not For School But For Life”.

Queen’s is proud to see students graduate as well-rounded and fulfilled young adults, ready to embrace life’s challenges with a global perspective.

Pupil happiness is paramount and at the heart of all decision making, and Queen’s College remains a child-centred school with strong family values and exceptional pastoral care.
