Show in a Week: The Lion King Performing Arts Camp

Step into the Pride Lands and bring a full musical to life in just one unforgettable week. A high energy, hands on experience from first rehearsal to live performance.

Over the course of a week, participants work together to bring The Lion King to life as a full musical production.

They learn scenes, rehearse numbers and contribute to the creative elements that make theatre work. Everything builds towards a final performance on stage at Queen’s Hall Theatre to family and friends. A 500-seat theatre, where the scale, the space and the atmosphere are all part of the experience.

Monday 27 to Friday 31 July: 9:00am to 4:30pm. Limited spaces available, book your place today:

Queen's College Taunton Performing Arts Show in a Week camp the Lion King

Participants take part in all aspects of putting on a show, both on stage and behind the scenes.

Across the week, they will:

  • Perform scenes, songs and choreography
  • Create costumes and masks
  • Contribute to set and props
  • Explore stage make-up
  • Work with theatre lighting and staging in a live venue

It is a chance to experience how a production comes together as a whole, not just the final performance.

Each day is active, creative and focused on building towards the final show. Rehearsals take place in a working theatre environment, allowing participants to become familiar with the stage and space they will perform in at the end of the week.

Casting is rotated across the week, so everyone has the opportunity to take on key roles as well as be part of the wider ensemble. Led by specialist performing arts teachers and industry professionals, the sessions are designed to be engaging, collaborative and confidence-building.

Take advantage of our early bird rate of £250 before 1 May. After this, the price increases to £300, with places expected to fill quickly.
