Grounds and Gardens Assistant

40 hrs per week

£26,208  per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Queen’s College as a Grounds and Gardens Assistant working within the Grounds and Gardens team to maintain the entire school site. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with the Grounds and Gardens Foreman with the efficient and effective preparation of gardens and sports facilities  across the whole site.

Queen’s College, Taunton has a reputation for the quality of its grounds and sports pitches and the successful candidate will play an integral part in working with the existing team to ensure that this continues. The facilities include seven rugby pitches, six cricket pitches and five multi usage games surfaces.  

You will also assist with the preparation and presentation of all garden areas within the school campus to help ensure that the site is immaculately presented at all times.  

A professional, courteous, friendly and methodical approach is required as the role involves contact with staff, students, parents and visiting sports teams to the school.

Porter/Caretaker
Full-time – 37.5 hours per week
Salary £12.60 an hour

Generous benefits package which includes free parking and a hot lunch during term-time.We are looking to replace a Porter/Caretaker who is retiring after 23 happy years at Queen’s. This is a year-round, full time post including some weekend and evening work on a shift arrangement.

Minibus Driver

Part Time, term time only.

Permanent contract

Split shifts – 3.5 hours per day; 7.00am – 8.45am and 5.00pm – 6.45pm

£13.00 per hour

Are you a reliable, safety-conscious driver with a passion for working with children and young people? We are seeking a courteous and professional Minibus Driver to join our friendly and supportive team.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting pupils aged 4 to 18 on our home-to-school minibus service, driving a 17-seater vehicle. 

The driver is expected to carry out daily vehicle checks, maintain the condition of the minibus, and promptly report any damage or maintenance issues. As a representative of the school, the driver should always conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner, promoting a positive image at all times.

What You’ll Need

  • Full, valid UK driving licence with D1 entitlement
  • At least 2 years’ driving experience (minibus experience desirable)
  • Experience working with children or young people

We are looking to appoint friendly, self-motivated and reliable cleaners to join our friendly Housekeeping team.  The successful candidates will be required to perform cleaning tasks and duties as directed by the Domestic Manager to provide a clean and safe School for our staff, students and visitors.

Cleaners will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is maintained throughout the School using correct materials and equipment.
