On Thursday morning, the musicians of Queen’s were proud to once more support the moving Holocaust Memorial Event at St John’s Church. An annual fixture in our calendar, this year saw us present one of our largest and moving works, the little known but beautiful ‘Requiem’ by Popper. This work for three cellos and piano was eminently suitable for the service and our Cello Trio, Shao Shen, You You and Charis, together with their director, Mrs Audrey Gullick, gave a superb performance of this work which perfectly complemented the words and atmosphere of the occasion. As always, we were very pleased we could be part of this important event, marking and reflecting on both past and present situations with the gravitas they deserve. Many thanks to our musicians for their professionalism and contributing so magnificently to the occasion.
