Nursery
Nursery children have had a fantastic time celebrating National Storytelling Week, immersing themselves in books and creative activities.
In Cottontails, the children explored The Very Busy Ladybird, learning about different wild animal sounds and engaging in hands-on creative tasks. They crafted their own flowers and designed ladybirds, with the older children practising their scissor skills to cut out and stick them onto pictures. Outdoor play has also been a highlight, with the children growing in confidence as they explore the garden.
Meanwhile, Puddleducks created a role-play library, learning about caring for books and sharing stories with friends. A special visit to the Pre-Prep library was a highlight, where they designed their own bookmarks and explored sensory materials linked to storytelling.
Minis
This week marked Children’s Mental Health Week, the Queen’s Minis embracing the importance of self-care and relaxation. They recreated a spa day experience, complete with soothing music, cucumber eye treatments, and a refreshing foot spa! Their focus book, Marvellous Me, encouraged discussions about individuality, celebrating the idea that everyone is unique and wonderful.
The weekly dance lesson also brought an exciting change of venue, giving the children an opportunity to further develop their confidence and physical skills in a large space. The Wyvern Hall provided a beautiful setting where they could display their talents and build self-assurance while dancing in front of the large mirrors. A wonderful way to encourage movement, expression, and confidence!
