The Year 5 and 6 children have been starting their days with Playground Positivity assemblies led by the Year 6 children in their leadership roles.
The inaugural assembly, overseen by the prefects, stressed the importance of empathy and distinguishing between good and poor choices. Subsequently, our playground monitors reiterated the significance of caring for equipment and promoting inclusivity in play. During Thursday’s session, the house captains explained how positive choices on the playground can earn HPL plus points to support their house’s success.
Our primary objective is to ensure the playground is a joyful and safe space. It’s been wonderful to observe the children demonstrating empathy and encouraging one another to be their best selves during break times, connecting the lessons from the assemblies to their play.
