Weekend Activities and Welcoming New Boarders
Queen’s College Cotlake Boarding House enjoyed a weekend filled with both sunshine and unexpected showers, showcasing the diversity of British weather to the new Spanish boarders. The welcoming atmosphere at Cotlake has been particularly heartwarming, with existing residents demonstrating kindness and empathy towards their new peers. These acts embody the house values and have been commended by both Cotlake staff and school leadership.
A Mix of Relaxation and Exploration
The weekend offered a well-balanced mix of activities and downtime. On Saturday, boarders soaked up the sun (and dodged the hail!) while cheering on the school hockey teams and participating in various sports like football, netball, and a walking Scramble around the Lower Field.
Sunday brought a well-deserved lie-in and brunch, followed by a refreshing escape to the Quantock Hills. The children revelled in the beautiful scenery while participating in a collaborative treasure hunt, showcasing excellent teamwork skills. The 4km trek didn’t dampen their spirits, and a restful night’s sleep followed their day in the fresh air.
Change in Next Week’s Activity
There’s been a change to the published schedule for next Sunday’s activity. By popular vote, the boarders will be heading to Flip Out in Wellington. The group will depart Cotlake at 1:00 PM and return by 4:30 PM.
