Each term, a number of musicians in the Prep School choose to take music exams with Trinity or ABRSM. These are great milestones, usually involving performing three prepared pieces, technical work and usually sight reading or aural tests. Results are given as marks and include helpful comments from the examiner. As well as playing in ensembles and concerts, choosing to take a music exam can be a really useful target.
