On Friday, Year 4 had a brilliant start to their topic on the Anglo Saxons with a trip to Carymoor. It was a fantastic day which started off with learning about where they belonged in a timeline of British history and dressing in Anglo Saxon tunics.
The children took part in several activities, including making a plate from willow and an orienteering task in which they had to answer questions about the Anglo Saxons. In the afternoon, the children learned how to recognise footprints of animals who lived in Anglo Saxon Britain and were challenged with a hunt for runes, with the prize of a chocolate coin.
All the children are excited about their further learning this coming term!
