Year 1 Making Vegetable Samosas

On Thursday in our RE lesson, we prepared and made vegetable samosas. Every child took part in each step of the cooking process. From shredding cabbage, chopping potatoes and grating carrots and cheese, to adding these ingredients to the saucepan and then folding the samosas in the filo pastry. They used the HPL skill of linking,  they saw the link between their RE topic of Hinduism and their English topic of instruction reading and also their math topic of fractions.

DIY Club

The Prep School Summer Fayre is just around the corner and the DIY Club, led by Mr Matthews,  worked tirelessly yesterday to put the stocks back together. The pupils cannot wait to see which brave teachers will be taking a turn in them this year!

Year 2 Gardening

Back in March, during Science Week,  the Year 2 children helped the grounds team to plant sunflower seeds.  The seeds have been carefully watered and grown in the greenhouse and were ready for the Year 2 children to plant in the area between the Pre-Prep and Upper Prep.  The children were excited to see how much they have grown, with some now at least 1m tall.  They are looking forward to observing the plants for signs of the beautiful flower head.
