Last weekend was a very busy weekend for the Outdoor Education Team.
On Saturday Year 10 Bronze DofE pupils completed some navigation practice on the edge of the Blackdowns and Year 11 Silver DofE were navigating on the Quantocks.
Year 12 DofE Canoeists completed some stroke development and rescue practice on the River Parratt. The groups were lucky with the weather which meant everybody gained some good quality training in preparation for their expeditions next summer. All three groups were great company and seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.
On Sunday the weather was less kind with gail-force winds and heavy rain – perfect weather for the initial Ten Tors practice on Dartmoor! Waterproofs were thoroughly tested but the group were amazing. They were positive and eager to learn despite the atrocious conditions and so the Ten Tors 25 journey begins.
