Prep School
A stormy start to a busy week in the Prep School sports saw sixteen children brave challenging conditions to compete at the Millfield Senior South West Biathlon Championships. Despite the tough journey, the children displayed incredible resilience and camaraderie, and we now eagerly await the January results to see who will qualify for the GB School event in March.
Notable Results:
- Year 6 Boys: 4th Overall (George B, Ernest, Jahmae)
- Year 6 Girls: 3rd Overall (Amalie, Ruby, Timisayo)
- Jonty: 6th out of 22
- Jonah: 15th out of 39
Monday
The Year 3 and 4 teams faced off against Kings College Prep. The U8 girls played with determination and tenacity, impressing Mrs Gent, while the Year 4 girls showed significant improvement in possession and passing wide. The boys’ teams had exciting matches, with plenty of goals scored. Although defence started slowly, it improved throughout the game, creating numerous scoring opportunities.
Tuesday
The football team faced St George’s Primary School, delivering a stunning team performance with excellent passing, movement, and superb strikes from Tom, Seb, Tom K, and Oliver. It was a promising display as we head into the winter break.
Wednesday
The rugby teams traveled to West Buckland. After a slow start, the U10 teams impressed with their use of wide balls to create space, while the U11s continued their progress, demonstrating strong teamwork and skill. The girls hosted Leweston School for hockey, with the U11A team playing impressive attacking football and scoring two goals. The B team also performed well, with Alyssa scoring a couple of goals. The U10B team showcased exceptional teamwork and drive, securing a clean sheet victory, and the U10A team played well-structured hockey to emerge victorious.
Friday
The U10A hockey team played their final fixture, while the U11A and B teams took on Exeter. With more fixtures tomorrow, it’s been an incredibly busy week for the Prep School!
