The Art Department welcomed Emma Trott last night for a Scholarship event. Jewellery Artist, Emma runs a local very successful contemporary jewellery gallery in Taunton, she also sells other makers’ work from all over the country. She inspired the Art Scholars with her talk and all of her work from her Art Foundation Course, her degree, where she received a First, as well as the work she is doing currently.
Pupils got the chance to look through her work, ask her questions and learn about the importance of both making creative mistakes then learning from them which ‘becomes part of your creative journey’. Also the importance of creative ‘playing’, is something that is heavily encouraged in the Queen’s Art Department. Emma also took the time to look at some of the pupils’ work.
Emma’s enthusiasm for her craft was fantastic and demonstrated to the pupils that with determination and passion, people can be what they want to be, especially in the creative world.
