Brian Cresswell Music Festival

students with trophies

Whilst this half term has steadily drawn to a close for our pupils, the musicians of Queen’s have built in momentum, showcasing their talents at the Brian Cresswell Music Festival. The annual event has seen pupils from across the college performing in a range of classes and events, with a live audience and adjudicator.

This year, pupils were entered in a range of classes, including Piano solo, Pop Vocals (under 12s and under 16s), Vocal solo 1600 – 1900, Folk song solo, and Vocal solo from a musical (up to 1959, and 1960 – 1999). Everyone performed fantastically well, with numerous pupils achieving 1st and 2nd place, and high honours.

The Prep school singers in Years 5 & 6 heralded the end of the festival with their performance in the Junior Choir class, and performed three contrasting pieces to a very high standard. Their musical efforts received honours in a class of strong competition – many congratulations to all.

Overall, this has been another incredibly successful festival for the musicians at Queen’s, with the high standards being upheld and developed. Thank you to all of our exceptional music teachers for their continued support of our pupils, and a huge well done to all those who participated this year!
