This week, the appointed prefect team for the 2026/27 academic year at Queen’s College was announced. The selection process was rigorous and reflective of the values the school hold dear: service, leadership, integrity, and community.
From nominations and letters of application to shadowing opportunities and interviews, each candidate gave thoughtful consideration to what it means to be a Queen’s prefect and demonstrated their commitment to supporting the life of the School. Their desire to give back and step forward as role models is a testament to their character and to the Queen’s pupil body as a whole.
Each of the students selected brings something unique to the role, and together they represent a broad spectrum of talents, interests, and aspirations. Queen’s are proud of every pupil who applied and grateful for the spirit of ambition and courage shown throughout the process.
Below is a short biography written by each new prefect, offering insight into their motivations, values, and hopes for the year ahead.
Meet The 2026-27 Prefects

Robyn – Head of School
Hi, my name is Robyn and I’m honoured to be the Head of School for the next academic year. I joined Queen’s back in the Year 8 summer term and currently I’m studying Economics, Psychology and Marketing BTEC.
Throughout my time here, I’ve enjoyed performing in the Queen’s Hall expressing my love for dance and enjoying the opportunities to learn new skills whether it’s MUN, mentoring, DofE, helping with a social media marketing campaign or taking on leadership roles within my house. I’d like to thank Queen’s for its stewardship and as prefect, support and encourage all students to indulge in the opportunities the school has to offer.
I aspire to be a role model students can confide in and seek advice from to strengthen their development when navigating their school lives and provide them the help they need to create a well-rounded timetable that’s sustainable for them.
James – Head of Barnicott House
Hi, I’m James, I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to be next year’s Head of Barnicott. I am currently studying Geography, Outdoor Education and Sport BTEC. As Head of House I look forward to working with the community for further success in the house and striving towards the ultimate goal the Founders Shield. My interests outside the classroom are mainly focused on sports, which include Rugby, Hockey, Tennis and going to the gym. As a prefect I look forward to encouraging students to make the most of being at Queen’s and also enjoying friendly competitions with other houses. Having been at Queen’s for many years, I’m passionate about giving back to the school and building on the positive community that we have. I thank the previous Head of House William who led Barnicott brilliantly and I wish to keep that going throughout the year.
Keira – Head of French House
Hello, I’m Keira and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be the next Head of French. Due to being at Queen’s for nearly six years, community is such an important value to me, especially because of my time as a Boarding Hutton prefect and being part of the military community at Queen’s. I’m already so appreciative of the opportunity Queen’s has given me to plan events and become a role model for all the girls in Hutton and I’m so excited to be able to do this for my house. I am currently taking Religion, Ethics and Philosophy (REP), Psychology and Biology at Queen’s. My passions include performing in shows, such as Hairspray and Les Miserables and singing in the College Choir. As the next Head of French I am most excited to get to know the students in my house and encourage all students to be the best they can be and maintain open communication with all of our House to spread ideas and motivation.

Lily – Head of Ray House
Hi, I’m Lily and I’m very delighted to be the next Head of Ray! I am a boarder at Queen’s and I study Art, Photography and Marketing BTEC and I’m really excited for the year ahead.
As Head of House, I want to bring lots of energy, positivity and success into everything we do. I’m excited to work with pupils to make sure everyone feels involved, supported and proud to be part of our house. I also want us to aim high and win everything we can this year. My interests outside of school are fashion and especially real estate which I hope to take up as a career in the future. I’m really proud to have been given this opportunity and I can’t wait to help make this year fun, successful and competitive for our house.
Tom – Head of Woolmer House
Hi, I’m Tom and I am extremely proud to have been chosen as a prefect at Queen’s. Having been at the school since Reception, I feel I know Queen’s inside and out — from the traditions and values to the importance of being part of such a strong community. I currently study Geography, Business and Outdoor Education, subjects which reflect both my practical mindset and my enjoyment of working with others. Outside the classroom, I am heavily involved in sport, particularly hockey, and I’m always willing to get stuck into anything, whether that’s on the pitch, in school events or helping other students. Alongside sport, I also have a keen interest in farming, which has taught me the value of hard work and resilience. As a prefect, I hope to be approachable, encouraging and someone who helps make Queen’s an even better place for everyone. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity and look forward to giving back to a school that has been such a huge part of my life.
Kofi – Prefect
Hello, I’m Kofi, a boarder in School House currently studying Economics, Psychology, and Religious Studies. Since joining the boarding house in year 9, it has given me the chance to become more independent and build strong and life long friendships. I enjoy playing football and have represented the 1st team in football here a few times. I’m looking forward to helping create an environment where everyone feels welcomed, supported, and motivated to make the most of their time at Queen’s. In the future I hope to go into corporate Law and maybe even start my own law firm one day.
Echo – Prefect
Hello, my name is Echo. I am a boarder at Queen’s, studying Maths, Further Maths and Physics as my A-Level subjects. I always enjoy solving logical problems and doing experiments at Queen’s. As an international student, I have received a lot of support and warmth from houseparents and my friends. Therefore, I am looking forward to making Queen’s even more inclusive and welcoming for every student, regardless of their background or nationality. Being approachable, responsible and considerate, I believe I have the maturity and empathy to be a thoughtful prefect.
Zach – Prefect
Hi. I’m Zach. I study Business, BTEC Sport and BTEC Outdoor Education. One of my greatest passions is sport, particularly swimming and athletics. During my time at Queen’s, I have been incredibly proud and honoured to captain both the school swimming squad and the athletics team. These experiences have not only strengthened my love for sport, but have also taught me valuable lessons in leadership, teamwork, and resilience. Being part of these teams has shown me how important encouragement and positivity are within a school community. As a prefect, I would aim to build upon the fantastic work of the previous prefects while also helping to create an environment where every student feels supported, included, and able to enjoy their school experience to the fullest.
Jayden – Prefect
Hello, my name is Jayden, and I am excited to be taking on a prefect role at Queen’s. I joined Queen’s at the start of sixth form and I currently study Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Geography A levels. I am looking forward to supporting staff and my fellow prefects in continuing to uphold the Queen’s tradition of fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for students to learn and grow, both academically and in character. I know that Queen’s has helped with my own growth and I am enthusiastic to be able to assist in any way I can to enable others to do similarly.
Alex – Prefect
Hi, my name is Alex and I have been at Queen’s since year 8. I am currently studying Business, BTEC Sport and BTEC Outdoor Education. I enjoy playing sports at school, especially rugby and football. Outside of school I am interested in agriculture and hope to pursue it as a career in the future. I’m proud to have been chosen as a prefect and I’m looking forward to representing Queen’s over the next year.
Alex – Prefect
Hi, I’m Alex and I am so excited to be part of the prefect team next year. I currently study Maths, Economics and Geography at A Level, and I do many co curriculars such as Orchestra, football, DofE Gold and Ten Tors. I am also a boarder and have been a prefect within School House this year. Becoming part of the prefect team is very important and I look forward to learning and becoming a better leader not only within school but also in the next stages of my life. I am excited and nervous at the same time because being a prefect isn’t easy and will throw many challenges along the way, but that is all part of the fun. I hope that I will do well and carry on the legacy that this year’s prefects have left behind.
