Girls Cricket

What a lovely afternoon of cricket the girls had against Wellington, even with the challenging weather conditions!
To ensure everyone got a chance to play today, the Year 5 girls mixed up schools as Wellington have quite a few less than us, and it was wonderful to see them chatting and enjoying each other’s company. The U11A team delivered a convincing win in their hardball match, demonstrating superb hit-and-run tactics to build a strong score. Meanwhile, the U11B team continued their impressive form with steady batting, leading to a fantastic total of 301. Despite some slightly rusty bowling and a bit of rain-induced sleepiness in the field, it was a truly enjoyable day of matches for all!

Boys Cricket

U11A vs Wellington

Our latest fixture saw a comprehensive display of progress from the entire team, both with the ball and the bat, highlighting just how far this group has come in terms of skill, discipline, and cricketing maturity.

With the ball, they were confident and disciplined, executing consistent lines and lengths that gave the opposition very little opportunity to score freely. The bowlers demonstrated an intelligent approach, keeping pressure on throughout the innings and forcing mistakes through patience and precision. Sonny set the tone early, claiming a lovely opening wicket that immediately put the opposition on the back foot.

Our fielding was sharp and alert, with steady, assured catches from Luca and Seb, each showing tremendous hand-eye coordination under pressure. These moments reflected the team’s growing awareness and sharp reactions, contributing significantly to the bowling unit’s success.

With the bat, the boys were explosive and threatening, posing a danger with every delivery faced. The batters played with confidence and intent, showing real flair but also excellent shot selection. Importantly, they are beginning to see a real talent and maturity in the way the team constructs innings—scoring in a wide range of ways and adapting to match situations effectively.

U11B

The U11B’s put in a dominant performance against Wellington and showed the progress that they have made this term. There was some impressive batting with clear communication when running between the wickets. Jahme, Theo and Henry all impressed with the bat. The team backed this up with some tidy bowling and determined fielding. Baptiste and Tom picked up a couple of wickets each.

U10B

The U10B’s enjoyed a fantastic game of cricket. It is clear to see the hard work and dedication in training is paying off. Some superb fielding, especially Berties backing up to make sure no extras were conceded coupled with some power hitting (9 fours were hit by our boys) and at times risky but overall valuable running between the wickets.
Overall, this was a very impressive team performance, built on discipline, skill, and a clear sense of purpose. The players should be proud of their development and the way they continue to perform and grow as a unit.
