U11A Hockey vs Perrott Hill & Leweston
This afternoon’s hockey fixtures proved to be an enjoyable and valuable experience for the squad, with two contrasting games that offered plenty of learning opportunities.
Our first match was against Perrott Hill. It was a tough and competitive contest, with both sides working hard throughout. The team showed real determination and resilience, particularly when defending under pressure. However, we were caught out on a few occasions by the counter-attack. Moving forward, we need to develop greater awareness in transition moments – reacting quicker when possession turns over and organising ourselves more effectively behind the ball.
In the second game against Leweston School, there was clear progress. We moved the ball well, built attacks with greater confidence, and found good spaces going forward. Our structure in possession improved, and we looked threatening at times. The next step is to be more decisive in the final third – taking earlier shots and putting their defence under consistent pressure.
Overall, it was a fun and productive afternoon of fixtures. The players worked hard, supported one another well, and showed positive development across the two games. Plenty to build on as we continue to improve. A big well done to Henry F, Arthur O and Thomas B who stood out in their roles today.

U10A Netball at Perrott Hill- Mrs Gardner
The U10A squad enjoyed a beautiful afternoon of sunshine for their match at Perrott Hill. The team started the game well, using the space effectively and passing strongly down the court. While the shooting was a little off at the start despite plenty of opportunities, the girls didn’t let it get them down. Everything clicked in the later stages as the team started to pull away, with Elsie and Matilda adding five goals to the three already on the board. Some really tight marking led to a number of great turnovers, and the set plays from the centre pass were a real highlight. Heading into this weekend’s tournament, the team will be working on holding space, delaying play, and making sure those passes stay accurate and strong as the ball moves down the court.
U11A at Perrott Hill – Mrs Foster
The U11A’s returned to action with a strong performance away to Perrott Hill that added to their win tally. Harriet dominated the attacking third with decisive movement and excellent shooting success. Our pathway of the ball from centre pass looked very smooth from the two Imogens before feeding the circle to good effect. Perrott Hill were unable to answer our goals thanks to regular interceptions by our hungry defensive trio of Alila, Emilie and Megan. This all contributed to a comfortable lead before mixing positions up. Olivia continues to help her team in any role, be that as a goal-hungry shooting partner or a tall GK. Everyone contributed to the team’s success with the added tenacity of Ffion and Annie buzzing about and adding goals to an enjoyable return to competitive netball.

U13A Vs Perrot Hill – Mr Knight
Queens U13A produced a hugely spirited performance in a narrow 5–4 loss to Perrot Hill. After a slow start, the team showed fantastic determination to grow into the game, building real momentum and taking control for long spells. The attacking play was particularly impressive, with Queens creating a host of chances and scoring four well-worked goals through some excellent team hockey. While the result didn’t quite reflect their effort and quality, the fight, resilience, and positive attacking intent on display were outstanding and give plenty to be proud of moving forward.
