U10 vs Perrott Hill
The match was another strong step forward for the group, with the team continuing to create opportunities for everyone to show their ability. Possession was shared selflessly, ensuring that each player had the chance to contribute both in attack and defence. This whole-team approach highlighted the balance of skills within the side, as combinations developed and confidence grew across the field. There was a clear determination to drive forward and score, with runners attacking space and support players working tirelessly to keep momentum alive. The collective effort and willingness to involve all teammates underlined the team’s spirit and produced a performance full of promise and ambition.
U11 vs Perrott Hill
The quiet, countryside setting and warm sunshine perhaps had a soporific effect on the U11’s! Or it took a while for the bus journey to work itself out of their system. In any event, they started a little slowly and took a while to remember how to play the ‘Queen’s way’ and seemed intent on running through the opposition, rather than passing the ball around them! Nonetheless, they problem-solved, realised what they needed to do and put it right. In the end, they scored some good tries and got back on track to play some super rugby. Their pressure in defence in the second half was particularly good, leading to some good turnovers and tries.
Hockey
A sunny Monday saw our Year 3 and 4 girls head to King’s College for a fantastic festival of hockey. Across 16 short matches, the girls showed outstanding commitment and energy, with scoreboards lighting up thanks to their attacking play. There was plenty to cheer with slick passing, great tackling and some brilliant eliminations that earned valuable House Points. Their determination and tenacity shone through in every game.
Later in the week, two of our U11/U10 teams travelled to Perrot Hill. The U11A side put in a confident performance and gained valuable experience as players rotated positions to develop their tactical understanding. The U10B team showed superb progress, learning to work the ball out wide and demonstrating growing awareness in their passing and positioning.
Cross Country
Meanwhile, at the King’s Senior Cross-Country event, the Queen’s team put in an excellent performance. The Year 6 runners led the way, with Imogen S, Tom and Oliver all finishing in the top 25 out of a field of 150. The Year 5 team also impressed, running with real determination and steady pace to finish in the top half of a strong field of 160.

U12A vs Wellington
The U12A girls put on an impressive performance in their fixture against Wellington, showcasing excellent teamwork, adaptability, and a real hunger for the game. Right from the first whistle, the team played with great intensity, moving the ball quickly and putting the opposition under pressure. The first half saw a flurry of attacking opportunities, with the girls dominating possession and creating several chances through slick passing and intelligent movement. In the second half, the team’s clinical edge came to the fore. With calm heads and confident finishing, they capitalised on the earlier pressure to take control of the scoreline. It was particularly pleasing to see players rotating through different positions, which gave everyone the chance to develop their game understanding and broaden their skill sets. The flexibility and teamwork on display were a real credit to the group. A confident and well-earned win!
