Joel (Year 13) – Head of House
For Ray’s Charity Day, the school has been raising money for Alzheimer’s society. This charity is very close to a lot of families within the school community and they showed their generosity through their donations. At break and lunch time, there was a huge bake sale with a vast variety of cakes ranging from cookies to millionaire shortbread which were all very popular and did not last very long! To top the day off, students paid to put their name in a box for the pie in the face event. As the Head of House, I hosted this event during Chapel and ten lucky names were pulled out, giving them the rare opportunity of throwing a pie in the face of the teachers involved. A huge thank you must be given to: Mr Green, Mr Mann, Mr Speyer, Mr Rich, Miss Wessels, and Reverend Kelley for being such amazing participants. The teacher that got pied by each student was determined by the spin of a wheel which had their faces on. Overall, it was an incredibly successful day for a great cause and the total amount of money raised will be announced next week.
