Science Week in the Prep School

Science Week in the Prep School

This week at our Prep School, we’ve been bubbling over with scientific curiosity as we celebrated British Science Week! From slime-tastic workshops to fascinating dissections, the week was a whirlwind of exciting activities designed to spark imagination and ignite a passion for STEM subjects.

Parents and members of the local community played a vital role in the week’s success, volunteering their time to run workshops on a wide range of topics, from the intricacies of farming to the groundbreaking world of nuclear power.  This fantastic collaboration brought real-world applications of science to life for our pupils, fostering a deeper understanding of the impact science has on everyday life.

The week boasted two undisputed highlights!  The Science Fair on Tuesday was a vibrant showcase of our young scientists’ brilliance.  Over 50 pupils proudly displayed their projects with friends, family and staff. The enthusiasm and depth of knowledge on display were truly inspiring.  Following this success, Thursday saw us collapse the curriculum for a full-on science day.  From the satisfying squelch of slime-making to the practical skills of first aid and also sessions covering everything from the digestive system (complete with a model journey of food through the bowel!) to the intricate world of flower dissection.

We hope you enjoy looking through the pictures and hearing all about the great work from your children.
