Nursery

There has been lots of Easter themed fun this week across the three playrooms at Highgrove this week. The children have enjoyed finding some hidden eggs in the sensory trays which have been full of shredded paper as well as decorating their own Easter egg pictures with many different arts and crafts resources.

Tiggywinkles children have been learning some new mathematical language whilst playing with the pom pom drop, using words within their play such as up and down.

Puddleducks children have thoroughly enjoyed the oral health theme this week, spending lots of time in the role-play dental area as well as using the small set of teeth to discuss how we ensure we can clean our teeth properly. There have also been lots of discussions about the upcoming visit from the Easter bunny as well as children’s favourites treats they would like to receive for Easter.

Minis

The children in Queen’s Minis have had a busy last few days of term with an array of activities; ranging from making chocolate easter nests in Kitchen club to taking part in a live demonstration to show what happened to poor Humpty Dumpty when he climbed up a that infamous wall.

The children also made a visit to the Senior School art department on Monday for a creative painting session led by Mrs Monk and her fantastic team of art staff where the children helped to make magic wishing beans from pebbles and a giant beanstalk as a culmination to our growing theme and focus on the ‘Jack and the ‘ story this term.

On Tuesday the children were treated to a visit from a doctor parent who talked about visiting the doctor and brought with her some of her doctor’s equipment for the children to investigate. As a finale to such a wonderfully educational term the children took a trip to Fyne court as part of our Forest School learning to look for the Easter bunny who had left Easter eggs hidden in the woods for the children to hunt out. Phew! What a busy and magical end to the term!
