Queen’s took a team of 10 Prep School climbers to the South West Inter-schools (Primary) Climbing Competition last Saturday and a further 16 from the Senior School to the Secondary School event last Sunday.
The competitions were held at South Molton and attracted climbers from North & South Devon, Dorset and Somerset. The teams comprised climbers from Years 4 – 6 in the Prep and 7 – 12 in Senior with a real mix of experience. Everybody attempted 4 top rope climbs, 5 boulder problems and a speed climb. It would be difficult to mention all of the stand-out performances because there were many, but trophies were presented to Teddy (Year 4) 3rd place in Years 3-4, Poppy (Year 6) 3rd place in Years 5-6, Tom (Year 7) 2nd place Years 7-9 and Emily (Year 7) 2nd place Years 7-9 Girls.
Queen’s Prep finished 3rd in the overall School team competition and the Senior climbers topped off a great weekend of climbing with a win in the Overall Senior School Team Competition. Well done to everyone who took part.
