Nursery and Minis Round Up 29 November 2024

 Nursery

The nursery children have enjoyed a wonderfully engaging week, packed with themed activities and a special visit from some furry friends. A particular highlight was meeting the guinea pigs, who joined the nursery for a visit. The children loved learning how to care for them and observing their gentle behaviour.

In Cottontails, the story of the week was Farmyard Hullabaloo. The children explored different animals and their sounds, enthusiastically imitating their favourite farmyard friends. Outdoor play in the garden added to the fun, where they practised gross motor skills through climbing, running, and ball games.

Over in Puddleducks, the children embarked on an exciting space adventure inspired by the story Whatever Next. They created salt dough stars and planets, decorating them with bright colours and glitter. The story was brought to life through imaginative role-play, including “picnics on the moon” and dressing up as Bear with space helmets. These activities encouraged creativity, storytelling, and teamwork, making the space-themed week a truly stellar experience!

Minis

The Queen’s Minis children have had a wonderfully busy week, preparing for their upcoming nativity performances. They’ve been hard at work practising their sing-along songs, putting in extra effort to sing alongside the Puddelducks children. In addition to their rehearsals, the children have also joined the Pre-prep children in the Birchal Hall for joint practice sessions, building excitement for their upcoming performance. Everyone is looking forward to presenting their hard work to the parents very soon.

Great fun was had at the Reception Christmas craft session, where the children had the opportunity to meet Mrs Chislett, one of the Reception teachers. They enjoyed exploring the classroom environment and having their first opportunity to get involved with some Christmas crafts. Everyone is looking forward to the Christmas fun planned for next week!
