Millie Gubby joins all-star Harry Potter cast
Old Queenian Millie Gubby has been cast as Luna Lovegood in the upcoming full-cast audio adaptations of the Harry Potter series by Audible. She joins an exceptional line-up of well-known British actors, including Bill Nighy, Keira Knightley, Hugh Laurie, Ruth Wilson, Ambika Mod and Saoirse-Monica Jackson. The first instalment of the series is set to be released on 4 November.
A star of Queen’s Performing Arts
While at Queen’s College, Millie was a standout member of the Performing Arts Department, taking leading roles in a number of productions and inspiring younger pupils across the school. Her dedication to performance, both on stage and in rehearsals, made her a key figure in the school’s creative community.
Her role in this new Harry Potter production is a major achievement so soon after leaving Queen’s in 2024, and a reflection of the school’s thriving Performing Arts culture.
Inspiring future performers
Ian Trafford, Head of Performing Arts at Queen’s, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled by Millie’s news. She made a bold choice to skip drama school and step straight into the entertainment industry from Queen’s. She is ready to shine, and this Harry Potter role is only the beginning. We are sure even greater things will follow.
Millie is a fantastic ambassador for Performing Arts at Queen’s. We support elite performers and also celebrate inclusive participation in music, dance and drama. Millie stood out as a role model to her peers. She starred in productions from Les Misérables to Animal Farm. Today, she continues to inspire our community and show what is possible.”
