Queen’s College Prep has been named in the Top 50 Prep Schools for Cricket in the The Cricketer Schools Guide 2026, recognising the strength and quality of cricket provision for younger pupils at Queen’s.
This achievement follows Queen’s College being included in the Top 100 Senior Schools for Cricket and reflects a consistent and joined up approach to cricket across the whole college, with the same coaching team supporting pupils across both Prep and Senior phases.
Prep Cricket Led by Experienced Specialists
Cricket at Queen’s College Prep is led by former England cricketer, Caroline Foster, who plays a central role in shaping the Prep cricket programme. With extensive experience in junior and youth cricket, Caroline leads the day to day delivery of cricket at Prep level, ensuring pupils develop strong foundations, confidence and a genuine enjoyment of the game.
She is supported by two hugely influential figures within cricket at Queen’s. Arul Suppiah, former professional cricketer, brings specialist coaching that continues to motivate performance players and enhance the standard of cricket across the school. Alongside him, Andrew Venning, Somerset Pathway Coach, who provides a wealth of experience and enthusiasm alongside technical expertise, shaping the cricket pathway pupils benefit from today.
Building Strong Foundations in Cricket
Cricket at Queen’s Prep is introduced early and developed progressively. Pupils are taught the fundamentals of batting, bowling and fielding in a supportive and engaging environment, with sessions designed to build confidence, coordination and game understanding.
The focus is on enjoyment alongside skill development, ensuring cricket remains accessible and rewarding for all pupils, whether they are new to the game or keen to develop their ability further. This approach plays an important role in the College’s wider commitment to high quality cricket education in schools.
Clear Cricket Pathways from Prep to Senior School
A key strength of cricket at Queen’s is the continuity from Prep to Senior School. With the same coaching team involved throughout, pupils experience a smooth transition as they progress, benefiting from consistent coaching approaches and clear development pathways.
This joined up structure supports both participation and progression, making Queen’s an appealing choice for families seeking schools that deliver strong cricket pathways alongside a broad and balanced education.
Facilities and Fixtures That Support Development
Prep pupils benefit from access to high quality cricket facilities, including practice nets and well maintained pitches. A full programme of fixtures against local schools provides regular match experience, allowing pupils to apply their skills in competitive but supportive settings.
This balance of training and fixtures helps pupils develop confidence, teamwork and a strong understanding of the game, reinforcing the value of cricket as part of school life.
A Proud Moment for Cricket at Queen’s Prep
Being named in the Top 50 Prep Schools for Cricket reflects the commitment of pupils, staff and the wider Queen’s community. It highlights a cricket culture that values enjoyment, development and opportunity at every level.
