Cross Country
Cross Country @ Kings
A large team of Year 5 and 6 runners took part in the final cross-country event of the term on Monday at Kings. In what was a competitive field, the team ran superbly well, showing great determination and resilience throughout. It was particularly pleasing to see so many pupils finish in the top 20. Full results will follow after the Easter break.
House cross country
A glorious afternoon of sunshine set the stage for our annual House cross-country race. This year, we introduced a slightly longer route, and it was wonderful to see so many runners rise to the challenge to earn those vital extra points for their Houses. As we often emphasise in our lessons, cross-country isn’t necessarily about speed; it’s about resilience and pushing your personal limits. Resilience is a quality frequently discussed but often difficult to demonstrate, yet it was fantastic to see every child display this characteristic as they crossed the finish line.
While every participant scored points for their House, only those who tackled the extended route were eligible for the top titles. A huge well done to our champions:

GB Schools Biathlon
We were delighted to have six children at the GB schools national finals over the weekend for Biathon. Having qualified from the regional event some time ago, well done to those who took part and I expect had an eye opening experience at the University of Bath. Reaching a national final is an amazing feat and we are so proud of you.

Hockey
Boys Hockey 1st XI Vs Wellington 4-5L, By Jack Knight
The 1st XI boys brought the season to a close with a thrilling and hard-fought match against Wellington. The game started at a high intensity, and we found ourselves 1–0 down early on. Despite the setback, the team showed real character and determination, refusing to let heads drop and continuing to push forward.
Our persistence paid off as we worked the ball brilliantly through the lines, playing some outstanding combination hockey to level the score at 1–1. With momentum building, the team grew in confidence and began to dominate passages of play. Some fantastic attacking hockey, highlighted by an excellent performance from Alex, saw us surge into a 4–3 lead.
However, in the final five minutes, Wellington managed to capitalise on a couple of chances, and despite our best efforts, we couldn’t quite hold on, conceding twice to end the match narrowly behind. A big congratulations to the boys who made their debuts today—they stepped up impressively and should be proud of their contributions. Finally, well done to the leavers for a fantastic season and for everything they’ve given to the team.
Netball
U13 Girls Indoor Cricket – Mon 23 March – Mrs Foster
Our U13 girls went to play an indoor 9 over match at Taunton School and enjoyed a flavour of the bat and ball contests the summer will bring. We began well with the bat including an exquisite straight boundary from Juno. A few too many dot balls characterised the next few overs before Matilda accelerated the scoreboard and then in the final over Poppy M-N hit two consecutive boundaries to help us post 75/6. Taunton managed to score off more balls in their reply despite some threatening bowling including Olivia and Martha both taking a wicket with their first deliveries. It was great to use eight different bowlers supported by Matilda doing fine work behind the stumps. Taunton passed our score, but engagement was high and our cricket will gain fluency once we get our feet on the grass. Well done team.
Super Saturday
Super Saturday was a fun-filled day of hockey and netball, bringing pupils together to enjoy sport and time with friends. An ice cream truck added to the atmosphere, making it a brilliant community occasion.
