World Book Day 2024

World Book Day 2024

Posted: 7th March 2024

World Book Day is about changing lives through a love of books and reading.  The theme this year has been ‘Read your own way’ and the children were challenged to think about how and where they like to read.  Throughout the day all the classes enjoyed a range of activities linked to developing a love of reading which we are passionate about nurturing here at Queen’s.

The Year 5 and 6 pupils were treated to a workshop with author Ally Kennen, who talked to the children about being an author and developing characters.  She gave children free books using the excitement of a raffle! She has kindly donated some books for the Year 5 and 6 classes, and there was also an opportunity for the children to get signed copies of her books which were very popular.

Thank you to all the parents who supported their children in the vast range of book character costumes!
