Queen’s College is celebrating another strong set of GCSE results, with almost half of all grades awarded at the highest levels.
The GCSE Results
49% of grades achieved by Queen’s pupils were at grades 7 to 9 (A grade equivalent), more than double the national figure of 23.1%. 14% of all grades were awarded at grade 9, while the overall GCSE pass rate was 98%.
There were particularly strong performances across a broad range of subjects. Art, Computing, English Literature, French, Geography, German and Spanish all saw more than 60% of pupils achieve grades 7 to 9.
Pupils completing the Higher Project Qualification also achieved an outstanding set of results, with 100% of HPQs awarded A or A*.

The Headmaster’s Response
Julian Noad, Head of College, said: “Results day is always a special moment, but what matters most is the individual story behind every set of grades. I am incredibly proud of what this group of young people has achieved and of the staff who have taught, encouraged and supported them along the way.
“As a proudly non selective school, our focus is not simply on the grades with which pupils arrive, but on the progress they make while they are here. These results reflect a huge amount of hard work from our pupils and the quality of teaching and support they receive every day.
“This is also not the end of their Queen’s journey. We are looking forward to welcoming them into the Sixth Form in September and seeing what they go on to achieve next.”

It All Starts Here: From Prep to GCSE Success
Three of our top performances have come from pupils who have been at Queen’s through virtually all of their education, Máté (eight 9s, two 8s), Maryam (seven 7s, one 8, two 7s) and Megan (six 9s, three 8s). There were further excellent performances, all with grades 7 and above including lots of 9s, from Sasha, Isabella, Mary-Tess, Joe, Freya, Evie and Ben. Many also gaining their A* or A in their HPQ projects.
Queen’s Sixth Form
In Year 12 this year’s GCSE pupils will continue their education at Queen’s Sixth Form, where they will build on their GCSE studies through A Levels, BTECs and the wider Sixth Form programme, including our celebrated Queen’s Diploma.
